Found this link also from the same site mentioned in my previous posting...scroll down to near bottom of info and you will see mention of this John HOUSTON landing at New Castle, PA/DE in the 1730's with his family from Nor. Ireland (Co. Antrim I think), and then there is mention of his sons Samuel etc. and a reference to an "old Sam Houston" which made me wonder if this was the same one that our McQuiston/McCuiston lines claim to be linked to which I think has been proven as a link now via Ydna evidence?? I'm not at all certain about that though.
Anyway, if we could somehow prove this was the same family line that intermarried with our own McQuiston/McCuiston's who came to the same place New Castle, PA/DE in 1735 with our Ydna MOODY family, then this could be a Possible showing of these two branches known to have first landed in PA ended up in Augusta Co., VA with a lot of the other Scotch-Irish that, if you will notice the many names on the land maps these folks owned, were also intermarried with some of our proven Ydna families.
Now, whether or not, these are the same branches of those family's, at this point I have no idea, but they all seemed to have come from the same places our known Ydna ancestors did in Nor. Ireland and landing at New Castle, PA/DE and then heading south to Augusta Co., VA or as in the case of our MOODY's and McCuiston's/McQuiston's at Guilford Co., NC, this sure seems a Very Possible piece to our family tree puzzle.
Also at the bottom of this page (the Link) is the surnames of EAKIN and KENNEDY, both surnames of which show up in other intermarried folks linked to our MOODY's that were also in PA at one time.
(William and his brother Robert and their sister Elizabeth or Ellen, can't remember now...but they were sons and daughter of John MOODY and Eleanor (nee Parkinson) Kennedy widow of William Kennedy who came from Newtown-Limavady, Co. L'derry area and settled in Pittsburgh, PA for a while ...their family back in Nor. Ireland had been linked to the Flax/Linen families and I believe their father owned the bleachgreen at one time).
William Moody married a LEDLIE woman and they were all inter-related or married with the EAKIN family. There was also an early Daniel MOODY in Delaware who married a Rachel or a Rebecca EAKIN who probably links to these lines too.
More research would probably be able to tie these lines together somehow. I do know these Scotch-Irish people stuck together like glue often times traveling and settling in the same places.
Hope this is someday helpful, and I thought the links to the HOUSTON family might be of interest here as well since I've read that they tie back to Clan Uisdean and "Hugh" too.

I hope the link works.
