Carol,
I have rechecked the Probate papers regarding Joshua Moody,Esq. and Tabitha Cox's and there is NO mention of any son Samuel or Hodgkin MOODY in their wills or estate papers or the guardianship court papers. Interesting.
In my own notes, I have written that these two sons must have died young, OR perhaps they had some falling out with their family and moved away. Who knows, but at any rate neither son is mentioned in their estate records.
I do have that they had a sons Samuel MOODY born 1742 to them as Joshua's father was Maj./Rev. Samuel MOODY and his mother Esther GREEN, and Hodgkin Moody b.1753.
Whether or not this is true, I have no Source at this time, but again, my records and notes regarding these families are packed up. I keep probate records and other documentation in my 3 ring binders so I was able to find them fairly quickly this morning, but again, no mention of Samuel or Hodgkin Moody, supposed sons of Joshua and Tabitha Cox MOODY.
Hope this is somewhat helpful to you.
Take care.
