Hello again Bill,
So very good to hear from you again and yes it has been quite a while since we chatted.
I just responded to another posting you left for me, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner in reply.
I have posted the Link to our Ydna Moody Surname Project page for you and on that page is some info you may find helpful but also our Administrator Bob Moody's email Link as well so that you can contact him directly if you have further questions. He is Very nice and helpful and will get back to you as soon as he can, he travels a good bit so might not answer your email immediately.
As far as the Ydna test itself goes, the test is a simple cotton swab to the inside of your mouth (the cheek area) and you mail those swabs back postage free and when they receive them, the test will begin and they will notify you.
Its so simple. I Highly recommend for Genealogical purposes that you consider a 37 marker test but they have a 67 marker test as well if you so choose to have that many markers tested. If in fact you do link back to the William 1 MOODY line of Newbury, MA, the 67 marker test might be a good bet for your group in that it will help to establish long term down the line the possibility of Exact Matches for your group which will be those in the "gray" shaded area on our Ydna Surname Project Test Results page, in case you haven't viewed them yet.
There are several in that "gray" shaded group now so chances are you will match up to one of them within that group.
Its all kept very private but we do prefer that you share a bit of the Genealogy lineage line that you believe your Moody's belong to so that others who might also be considering doing the Ydna test can see if they will one day match up to you.
Its been such fun to meet other MOODY cousins and share photo's and tales and traditions within our Genetic bloodline of Moody's too. The one thing to keep in mind is that there is No Arguing or Guessing with the Ydna test results. No one can ever take that Match away from you or ever say...No No No, you don't belong to that William or this John MOODY etc. etc. Which ever branch of Moody's your Ydna test shows you belong to...well, that IS your branch of the Moody family...once and for all you will Know for Certain.
I believe we have enough different branches of MOODY's represented now that you will find a match or one close enough that will place you into one of the categories.
Good Luck to you Bill and thanks so very much for considering doing the Ydna test.
It will such a great help to you to Finally Know which line you belong to and what a great gift to leave for your family of Moody's as well.
Take care Bill and always great to hear from you.
