Hi Scott, Apologies for being so long getting back to you. I spent some time the other day going through the Census' data and found the following that I believe to be this Buncombe Co., NC branch of the MOODY's lineage line that you posted the cemetery link to. From thee 1840 Southern Div. of Buncombe Co., NC comes the following info.: J. H. MOODY age 40-50 with 3-1-0-1-2-0-1 males and 0-0-0-1-1-0-0-0 females (eldest female was between age 20 and 30). I believe this above J. H. MOODY (John I think) to be the Father of Parris/Paris MOODY who in turn was the father of William L. MOODY who in turn was the father of Harry L. MOODY, Sr. From the July 0, 1850 Buncombe Co., NC census: J. H. MOODY age 52 farmer b. NC J. H. MOODY (prob. "Jr.") age 11 farmer ____? (can't read) A. NC NC NC **************************************** According to online genealogies which may or may not be correct...this branch of MOODY's links back to that Robert MOODY and Ann Loudon of VA. However I have Seriously Doubted this for a long time as the book in which much of this info has come from, has a LOT of mistakes. Its a Wonderful reference book but needs a lot of documentation in order to help support many of the, what I call 'convenient placements' of Moody's that fit well. Anyway, William L. MOODY b. 1827 in NC was a son of Reuben Moody b. 1801 in Greenville, SC and Mary "Polly" LEATHERWOOD. Wm. L. MOODY married Mercy Ann PLOTT of Jonathan's Creek, NC Their son Paris Lafayette MOODY b. 1849 in Haywood Co., NC. Reuben MOODY was a supposed son of John MOODY b. c1771 in Greenville, SC and Elizabeth LAIRD of VA. John MOODY supposed son of Jesse MOODY b. in Chatham, NC and Dinah HOLLINGSWORTH of Orange Co., NC, on back to John Moody and Lucretia Green of Prince George and Bristol, VA and Franklin, NC. This is all speculative however unless there is Documentation for it which I have personally not seen. OH and I did the overlay face thing between the two photo's and they did not match up, however I think its due to the fact that the two photo's have different positions of the face in each of them, one is more to the side and not a straight on picture of the face, however I still maintain that this man does look a little bit like my Dad. Hope this info is helpful to you or others who may be researching this branch of the MOODY's. Take care and thanks for letting me know that you have been Ydna tested.
