Thomas Moody- Charles City Co, VA- Farish , Banks and Coleman connections

Thomas Moody, s/o Samuel Moody - Charles City Co. VA- married a Farish- I have not found out yet what her name was- but if anyone knows, please let me know.
My direct ancestors are the Moodys and Rogers- who went to South Carolina and Glynn Co.Georgia

Most of the connections here begin in old Rappahannock/
Essex Co. VA and King and Queen records- but include these families that are named-
Robert Coleman, one of the early settlers married to Elizabeth Grizzell- and the name was probably passed down to the daughers of their descendants-

Thomas Moody- @1691- Charles City Va. Died and left will in 1753 Va. Married to a Farish, about 1714.
Their children:
1. Henry- b @1715- Charles City Va.
2. Lucy Hill b @1717- Charles City Va.
3. Elizabeth- b @1719- Charles City, VA
4. Mary b @1721- Charles City Va.
5. Martha- b @1723- Charles City Va.
6. Phillip- b @1725- Charles City Va
7. Samuel- b @1727- Charles City Va. died 1772- Westover, Charles City Va. Married to Sarah? @1752. He left will 1772. He received 820 acres on North side of the James River in Charles City Co. Children of Samuel and Sarah:
i. David- b 1753-
ii. Sarah- b 1755
iii. Rebecca- @1757
iv. Mary- @1759
v. Thomas- @1761
Note **Farish Family-Banks Family_ Connected to the Banks Family of King and Queen Co. Virginia.Thomas Farish married to Frances Pannel Banks, he being son of John Farish and Sarah Martin of K & Q. Frances was daughter of Adam Temple Banks and ? Rogers. King &Queen Co. Their children were: Catherine Rogers Banks who married Edward Hinton, Adam Thomas Banks who married Frances Banks (Cousin), and John Temple Banks who married Catherine Brent Rogers.
****Katherine Banks, daughter of Christopher Banks, Canterbury, England-b @1620- died 1686 at Powhattan, Henrico Co. Va. married to Joseph Royall- b 1618- London, Middlesex, England, later of Dogham, Charles City Co. Va. as first husband. They had a son, Joseph, Jr. b @1642?, who later married to Mary Eppes, daughter of Francis Eppes and Elizabeth Littleberry and lived at Amelia and Henrico co. Va. Joseph Jr. and Mary had son, Joseph, III-b @1681-2- who married to Elizabeth Kennon, daughter of Richard Kennon and Elizabeth Worsham of Conjurer’s Neck, Virginia. The Kennons were connected by marriage to the Bollings. Katherine married 2nd to Henry Isham- b 1605- about 1645, he being about 40 years old and she being about 25 years old with a small child.

Farish Family
Robert Farish- b 1655- of Broom Park, Cumberland, England- (LDS Information) Robert married? Cumberland, England –
Son Robert Jr.- b 1675- in Cumberland, Eng. Married to Sarah- b 1675-1694.
He immigrated to the Colonies in 1702 to Old Rappahannock/Essex Co. VA, first, where he is listed in land deeds -he received 2000 acres land along with John May and John Pigg- (The Piggs were early settlers of Rappahannock Co. and had married into the Mott Family)- This land was located on the Mattaponi River near Doag Indian Town- and was recorded in 1714. King and Queen Co was later formed from these original counties.
Son John- b 1695-died 1771- Cumberland England, King and Queen, VA- and Spotsylvania. Married first to Sarah Warren-about 1717? And second to Sarah Martin- b 1699, in 1725-
Children:
1. William P- married Jane P. Pendleton
2. Robert -1710-1769-K&Q - married Judith Johnston b.1715.
Children:
a. Ann- married John Martin @1731 He was born 1710-1787- born probably K. William Co., died in Albemarle Co. s/o Jean (John) Martin and Leticia or Elizabeth Lewis. He had married Mary Scott first about 1729- His Grand-father was Abram Martin-1642-1711- of Pale Park, Dorsetshire Eng., who died St. Peter’s Parish, New Kent Co. Va. and Elizabeth. This family is connected to the Moodys of Essex Co. Massachusetts.
b. Catey- married James Stevens
c. Dolly- married Wilson Smith
d. Judith- married Willard Smith
e. Lucy – married William Rogers-1721- son of Joseph Rogers and Lucy Burgess- Spotsylvania VA and the King and Queen County Rogers- ancestors of those in South Carolina with the Moodys-
f. John, Jr.- married Mary
g. James- married Frances
h. Thomas- married Frances Pannel Banks
1790 Reconstructed Census of Washington Co. GA:
Gerrard Banks- Head right and Bounty Grants- And Surveyors Records- all in 1789-1793
Coleman Connection: of Robert Coleman- and Elizabeth Grissell- of Mobjack Bay and New Kent Co. VA and Essex/Old Rappahannock Co. and later Drysdale Parish, of King and Queen VA. His son Thomas Coleman b about 1716- died in 1795- Caroline Co. (Minute 1795- p. 158, Caroline Co. Records)– He married in 1745 Sarah Farish who died in 1793- She was a daughter of Robert & Judith Farish of Caroline Co. VA. In addition to owning land in Caroline Co., Thomas owned more than 2,000 acres in Spotsylvania Co. On 1 Oct 1745, perhaps the date of his marriage to Sarah, he was given 346 acres of land in Spotsylvania Co. by his father \(DB C, p. 171, Spotsylvania Co. Records). On 25 Sep 1762 (Pat. Bk. 34, p. 1077) Thomas was granted 170 acres in Spotsylvania Co. See also Order Bk. 1785-87, p. 87, Caroline Co. Records, DB M, p. 49, Spotsylvania Co. Records./a>, and DB M, p. 457, Spotsylvania Co. Records. Thomas was reimbursed for provisions furnished the Continental Army \(Minute Bk. 1774-82, p. 188, Spotsylvania Co. Records\).
