There isn't a whole lot of info regarding the relationship of James MOODY who married Lavinia "Love" PERRY but here is what I've found so far.
The James MOODY who married Love PERRY was a son of Israel & Elizabeth (Caskey) MOODY. James was born in Oct. 1831 in Ireland. He was a twin brother to John MOODY and also a brother to Robert MOODY who married Margaret McNUTT.
The children of James MOODY and Lavinia "Love" PERRY were as follows:
John MOODY b. Nov. 20, 1863 d. Mar. 2, 1943
Ellen b. c1867 m. Edward CHUTE
Perry b. Feb. 9, 1871 m. Florence VAUGHAN
Edward b.
William (called "Willie" on his birth record) b. Feb. 16, 1875
Nancy b. m. Mr. GOULD
Holmes MOODY b. Jan. 13, 1879 (all kids born in Kings Co., Nova Scotia)

James MOODY (b.Oct. 6, 1831) married Love PERRY on July 12, 1863 in Cornwallis, Kings Co., NS.
Love was born June 8, 1840 and d. Aug. 15, 1912 in Kings Co., Nova Scotia. On her Death Record it gives the following info: - Love MOODY d. Aug. 15, 1912 at age 74 yrs. Residence - Harborville, Kings Co., NS - Widow - wife of James MOODY b. Ireland - Baptist - she buried at Canada Creek. Cause of Death ______ Length of illness 4 months
Informant of death - Holmes MOODY (her son).

From the Census' of Kings Co., Nova Scotia -
1861 Kings Co., NS
Robert MOODY with 4 males 3 females
living a few doors below- James MOODY with 2 males (no females...so this was before he was married)
On the Next Page - Israel MOODY with 1 male and 2 females
(so this is no doubt Father -Israel and his 2 sons Robert and James living all within probable shouting distance of each other).

1871 Harborville, Kings Co., NS
James MOODY age 39 b. Ireland - Ref. Presbyterian - Irish- farmer
LOVE age 31 b. IRELAND
Just a few doors up from them is a James PERRY age 67 (so b.c1804) born IRELAND and wife Nancy age 56 b. Ireland both are Presbyterian, Janie PERRY age 19 b. NS and Maria PHINNEY age 7 b. NS

Same Census but about 3 pgs. over is
Robert MOODY age 56 (which must be wrong seeing as how he was only 13 in 1841 when his family sailed into NY harbor from Ireland per ships list) - born IRELAND - Ref. Presbyterian - Irish
Margaret MOODY age 39 b. NS - Weslyn Methodist

1881 Harborville, Kings Co., NS
James MOODY age 48 b. Ireland - Baptist - Irish
LOVE age 40 b. Ireland
SAME PAGE - SAME CENSUS
Robert MOODY age 52 (note how he got younger from the previous year...laughs)b. Ireland - Presbyt.
Margaret age 46 b. NS
On NEXT PG...
Thomas ORR age 62 b. Ireland
and Ann (this is Nancy Ann MOODY daug. of Israel and sister to Robert and James above), she was age 60 b. Ireland.
*******************************************
So all of these folks were living real close to each other which is indicative of a close family tie.

Just clarify and not confuse the Two James MOODY's again...
The James Edward/Everett (as his birth record has his middle name but every other document I have of his records his middle name as Edward), b. July 7, 1857 was son of Robert MOODY and Margaret McNUTT. This is the James E. MOODY who married 1st to Lavinia BISHOP in 1879 and 2nd to Phoebe Amelia Schurman when he was age 27 and listed as a "Widower" on that 2nd marriage record.

Okay, I hope for the time being this helps to sort things out...perhaps no one else was as confused by these James' and Lavinia's but me, but I wanted to get this sorted out for the record just in case.
I think Debbie has this on here somewhere too and I believe she may have already had this sorted out at one time, but I just needed to go through it all for my own records because my info was conflicting.
Also, the reference I made to son William MOODY being born in 1854 must have been copied incorrectly because his Birth record was as I showed it above where he was called "Willie". All of the children's births fit in line just fine for James Moody and Love Perry after I checked them out and verified them.
That's all for now.
