I will look into my own records to see if I might have mention of any early Samuel Moody's in that area of PA, right now, none come to mind.
I can tell you however that in our particular group (the HaploType "I1d" section), we do have a Ydna match to an early Samuel MOODY who came to PA from Nor. Ireland and was in the 1790 census with his wife known only as "Martha".
They landed in Baltimore, MD and then removed to Philadephia I think (might have been Pittsburgh though), and then most of their children (also named Samuel, James etc.) removed to OHIO and other places around that area as I recall.
Its been a while since I viewed that person's family tree.
Perhaps his earliest known ancestor - Samuel MOODY is the one you are searching for.

Yes, the DNA stuff is VERY confusing and it boggles the mind, but again, I try not to get all caught up in the How it works, I just know that from a Genealogical and Genetic standpoint, it works Very Well at determining which branch of Moody's you descend from.
I can tell you that if your Moody's earliest known descendant is the Robert MOODEY, Esq. from Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland who married Mary HUTCHISON/Hutchinson daug. of Joseph, that we do not have anyone representing that line so far.
That was why I said it would be so wonderful if we did have someone from that line that would be willing to do the ydna test. This particular line has been So Confused for so long with the Other Robert Moody line of Beaver Co., PA that the Only way to sort it all out at this point is via the ydna test results.
I really hope it will something you and your family will consider doing.
Thanks again for the info you shared, every little tid bit of information regarding this Robert MOODEY, Esq. line will be a huge help to those of us researching it.
Take care.
