Found a James MOODY who in 1784 is listed as a "resident" of Annapolis in Canada. What is odd about this record however is that it is found amongst the New York state genealogical records of 1675-1920. Why is that I wonder??
Eight years earlier (1776)there was also a listing for a James MOODY in the New York (same records) that was in the Rev. War serving in the 4th Regt. of the NY army. I actually have his Rev. War records from the NARA. His residence at that time was listed as New York.
Also interesting is that in 1776 from the same NY records was a Mrs. Sarah MOODY whose residence was actually listed as New York. Could she have been Sarah (BAKER)??
Since I'm not exactly sure when James MOODY went to Annapolis, Nova Scotia, CAN, and because my exact ydna matching Moody family stated their James Moody came from New Jersey (maybe it was actually this one from New York??), I see this is a Very Possible lead.
If I could find the family history on this particular James MOODY, I might learn a bit more about my own Moody branch of Ydna family.
If anyone out there knows anymore about this James MOODY of New York in the 4th Regt. of the Rev. War in 1776 who ~Might~ be the same one who ended up in Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, CAN by 1784, I would be most greatful to learn about him.
I know a few years back I posted some info regarding him after I received his papers from the NARA, so I will go try to dig them out now.
Thanks again for any further help.
