Hi Mel,
I have tracked James and Elizabeth Quimby Moody in the past. I checked msg. 737, but it wasnt your msg. Is that number Correct? Anyway, because Elizabeth married James as his second wife and it wasnt until 22 Nov 1792 in Wakefield, NH and because they had children, I estimated that Elizabeth was quite a bit younger than James and born closer to 1770. Abner was b. 1804. The other Elizabeth Quimbys were born closer to James Moody's birthyear, abt. 1752. So, without doc. so far I had thought Elizabeth Q who married James Moody and had son Abner might have been daughter of a Jonathan Quinby/Quimby and unknown spouse. This Jonathan's son, Jonathan, Jr., possibly brother to the Elizabeth who m. James Moody, was husband of Betsey Moody, daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Gordon Moody.
From Early Families of Acton-Shapleigh, ME, by Fred R. Boyle, CG, pp. 529-530
"Jonathan Quimby, b. bef 1765, (who m. Elizabeth "Betsey" Moody) on 5 June 1786 acquired land in Shapleigh from Samuel Moody of Wakefield, NH, a probable relation to his wife."
Samuel Moody was probably a brother to Elizabeth Moody Quimby; Samuel was married to Catherine Quinby/Quimby, sister to Jonathan Quinby/Quimby.

The Shapleigh-Newfields area of ME isnt far from Parsonsfield where Abner lived and died.
We are currently awaiting full ydna results from a known descendant of Edward Gordon Moody and his son Obediah Brown Moody which will hopefully clarify if Edward Gordon Moody is or is not of the Clement Moody line, or is of an independent Moody line as some have speculated.
