Great batch of info and sooooo happy for those descendants of the Jonathan & Elizabeth (Gordon) MOODY > Edward Gordon MOODY line that they Finally have some sort of conclusion to their Ydna here with this 3rd matching Mr. Moody to their "bright green" section of the Moody Ydna Surname Project. Many thanks to the Mr. Moody who did the Ydna test as well.

The best case theory that seemed to fit this case the best was that Jonathan MOODY, Sr. was indeed a "genetic" son of Clement 1 MOODY and Sarah (nee Clark). However, it would appear that Jonathan married Johanna/Joanna (her name is seen spelled both ways in various records), as a woman who had either lost her husband to some illness, accident or other situation, when she was pregnant. Jonathan must have taken her in, married her and then when her child was born, he Adopted that little infant son and gave him his name...
Jonathan MOODY, Jr.

This would certainly raise cane with the Ydna sequence in that it would NOT match to the Clement line via "genetics", but the family non-the-less most certainly does have "Relationship" to the Clement line via the Adoption just the same. Soooo, the comments that Jonathan Moody, Jr. are Clement 1's, "grandson" DO Indeed Fit the picture.

Hopefully one day, these 3 lone Mr. Moody's will find out who their real "Genetic" paternal line belongs to.
If they Upload their numbers into YSearch, that may come sooner than not. That will be the fastest way to find out who shares the closest Ydna to them, perhaps right now they share none with any other surnames, but someday it will most likely show up.

Researching Johanna/Joanna, as best one can do given so little to go on, might also reveal new info as to her maiden name, family and perhaps her 1st husband (if indeed she was at all married prior to).
So very happy that this line finally has a link, perhaps not genetically matching to the Clement line but still they are the family of that lineage line.
