I certainly was pleased and surprised to see John Moody, 1st grandson of my Joseph Moody in attendance at the Moody Reunion with Thomas' family. My Grampy always said he was a 2nd cousin to them in Nobleboro.
Oh well, I just have to wait this one out I guess and hope someone else will come along and do the DNA test that will match to my Dad.So far he matches to No one...and I have serious doubts he's going to match the Moody's of Nova Scotia either...just a gut feeling.
I have an idea that my 5th grt. grandmother Elizabeth (Donald) Moody's status of "widow" in Sept. 1785 is probably correct. That's why I was so thrown that we had a match to the Nova Scotia Moody's, but knowing what I know now about these so called DNA matches, that's why it Appeared we had a match...we should know for sure real soon now.It sure does take them Forever...and I think Upgrades ought to be given Priority myself, but thats because I'm in a hurry for the results. (grin)
But my point is, is that unless James deserted Elizabeth and is the one in Nova Scotia who married a 2nd time, then his James is not my James and I'll just have to go back to square one and figure that my James really did die sometime between c1782 and Sept. 1785.
Anyway, I was very pleased to see that John Moody attended the Moody Reunion in 1897...that was quite a surprise.
