I have just found a link between this Adam MOODY's family and one of our Ydna MOODY's family genealogies (IF IF IF the information between the two is correct that is.)
Its a far stretch but none-the-less shows a Probable relationship between these two Moody families.
The surname of DAWSON also showed up as one of our partially matching Ydna other surnames too.
Also as anyone whose researched the Robert MOODY and Mary HUTCHISON/Hutchinson line before has probably noticed, there has been massive confusion over this couple.
Somewhere on this board I think (with the help I received from several others...Jim is one person who comes to mind and I apologize for not remembering the others right now, but Thank You to all who helped), I believe Jim sorted it out well and as his sources and references are Great, I believe he has it correctly.
This line still seems to be problematic but I did notice that someone posted on here that Robert MOODY married Mary HUTCHISON and that her Sister Margaret Hutchison married a Thomas MOORE. Perhaps this is where the confusion has been.
(or I may have the names backwards, Robert may have married Margaret and Thomas may have married Mary Hutchison).
Anyway, I wanted to post this as an attachment to this message because so much of the info and details in the Orig. post now have Real meaning.
For instance...I now notice that many of these same names were among those found in the early records of Augusta Co., VA (Staunton area today).
Many of those families were said to have removed to PA or came to VA from PA.
I also see a couple of errors from that orig. post...
first, the MOODIE's are a sept of Clan Stewart and only that spelling of the name is listed on their charts.
Second, Beaver Co., PA is Not in the eastern portion of the state, it is in the far Western portion of the state.
My apologies for those errors.
I also noted several other Common Surnames from the Adam MOODY family tree and our Ydna Moody participants family tree. His family ended up in OH and other various places.
For right now it ~appears~ that our Ydna line may connect to this Adam MOODY line of Northampton Co., PA who came over from Ireland and Adam's father James MOODY came with them on the trip.
So this is getting quite exciting to find these little tiny bits and pieces that link these families together.
No matter how small it may be, I hope to find more of them as I continue to research these handful of Moody families who came from Nor. Ireland to Nor. America in the 1700's.
