I am not researching the Moon family but I am researching my Gilbert family. My 3rd great grandfather, Edward Gilbert, gave bond or however you say it, something to do with a bond, for David Moon and Jane Porter in Guilford Co., North Carolina in 1780. Now, I'm wondering if there was any connection between the Gilbert and the Moon families. I have never been able to find out Edward's wife's maiden name. She was Mary ???, born in about 1729. Does anybody know of a connection?
