Moores of Halton in Cheshire

I have traced my family name back to Robert Moores, an agricultural labourer, born in Stockham Cheshire in 1847; married Elizabeth and they had six children born in or around Halton. Selina (b.1869), John my great-grandfather (b.1871) a dockyard labourer who moved to Portsmouth, Mary (b.1874), Thomas (b. 1877), Harry (b.1880) and James (b.1892). John and James married sisters by the name of Davis of Ledbury in Gloucestershire. Any connections? I only knew of John and James until recently stumbling upon the family in the 1901 census.
