Illinois Moorhouse + tartan?

Greetings -

I am looking for information on the predecessors of my grandfather, who (I am told) came from either northern England or southern Scotland. The only information I know is that Clarence Maurice Moorhouse married Mary Ellen Gillette in the mid-1930s in Illinois, USA. They had two sons, James and John. Clarence died in the late 1970s. I realize this is rather vague, but if this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know.

In the same vein, rumor has it that there is a Moorhouse tartan. I would enjoy seeing what it looks like.

Thank you for your time. I look forward to a reply!
