Thanks for your reply. I am descended from William Neville Moorhouse, their last child and the only one born in the US. Lois Moorhouse, child #8, was born in England and Christened in Repton,Derby, England June 5, 1830. This would make it difficult for the family to have come to America in early 1830. I am interested in emailing with you about our family history. I sent an email to the address given with this notice but it was returned. If you are interested please send me a current email address and I will re-send the note along with a genealogy report on what I know of John Franklin Moorhouse. I have also researched the spelling of our last name. My grandfather, William Sydney Moorehouse, was the only one I have found that changed the spelling to Moorehouse from Moorhouse. It has been spelled differently in several types of records but as far as we have determined this was done by the census taker or clerk that wrote down the information and it was spelled differently at a later date.
