Chris and mark,I will try to email you both. William Sefton moorhouse was my great grandfathers brother.William Septimus de Septimo Moorhouse is my great grandfather and i am researching on his parents William Moorhouse (JP and Magistrate shown as living at 84 Hilltop Road ,Knottingley in the 1861 census (aged 70 then and his wife Ann 10 years younger).I have gone back as far as their parents William moorhouse and Mary Sefton. Mary was b/c 14th july,1751 at Pontefract..father William Sefton (hence all the Seftons throughout our family tree in australia and New Zealand).I do not know if her mother was Hannah Rainforth???(just a hunch only). Ann Carter's parents were John Carter and Elizabeth Sykes (hence the Sykes in William and Ann's daughter Lucy Ellen Sykes). Some of the children married into the Rhodes family. e.g. Edward Moorhouse m.Mary Anne Rhodes and their son William Barnard Rhodes of New Zealand receivd a posthumous VC for bravery in WW1...I've travelled from Australia to New Zealand 4 times and it was good to see the statue of William Sefton Moorhouse. My grandmother Fannie May Moorhouse had a brother Sefton Frederick, another called William Knottingley and one called Mary Rhodes...as you can see some names follow through..I can share all our Australian tree if that helps and anything else I find on earlier Moorhouses. My grandmother kept some clippings of the Archbishop of Melbourne as she said we were related..Sue
