Hello again Faye,

I have a complete family history of Sefton's family available from the Canterbury Museum. Afraid I can't find even a remote connection to our lot despite the vehement assertations of the older generation.
For what its worth ...two other families of New Zealand Moorhouses have also "adopted" the "titled" name of the Sefton family. One lot are totally convinced that they descend from Sefton but in fact they descend from a painter who lived in Invercargill who named his son William Sefton Moorhouse. Only one line of male descendants remains of the several brothers who came to NZ. Reginald Mark Moorhouse (known as Mark) is living in Wellington.

Cheers Mark
