You are so right Mark, Avon and Jim both grew up thinking they were connected to William Sefton, Avon even has Sefton as his middle name!! I too, have disproved that connection, in fact a lady from England who is genuinely connected has now got copies of heaps of material that was sent to me when I was looking into that side of the family. There certainly is no connection. Amazing what a 'title' will do!!
Were the two names I gave you of James & John what you were looking for?
Sat down today and went over what I had - have you got the parents of the grandchildren mentioned (Elizabeth, Ruth and John) attached to John & Betty Moorhouse? This is in the 1841& 1851 census, so it looks like they must have been living with them. Also do you know when John remarried to Ann?
Would be interested in any facts going back from Rev. James - I found Enoch Morris on the LDS records - I also found a marriage of James Moorhouse to Grace (no surname) says abt. 1787 Burnley, Lancashire. Is this the record of James and Grace do you think? Did they marry as Moorhouse or Morris?
Lots of questions, I'm afraid I find all this so interesting I can't leave it alone.
It also looks as if Alan Moorhouse may be connected to our family as well. You never know where a relation is going to pop up, never really thought I would find anyone back in England though.
Look forward to hearing from you.
