Thanks for your kind sentiments re the loss of mum. I have printed them out in card form and will display them at the funeral.

I have been back through what records I have to hand which includes Parish registers and bishops transcripts for the Padiham, Whalley Sabden Pendleton areas. I don't have a copy of the Moorhouse entries for Burnley other than the few on the IGI.
If you have them on computer I wouldn't mind a copy. My email is

A Brian Moorhouse in Padiham (but not from local stock) sent me some pictures of the Longholme Chapel which he sourced from his local Family History Centre (I think). Its quite imposing isn't it?

Please read the latest to Faye for the next generation back from Rev James Moorhouse.
I'll have to post it bit by bit as I find time.

I am currently extracting all Moorhouse entries from the GRO (St Caths) indexes for births deaths and marriages.
There were two William Enochs (Dec 1/4 1830 & Dec 1/4 1833)within three years of each other both under the "Haslingden Umbrella" which in the GRO includes Bacup, Accrington, Edenfield, Newchurch and Rossendale plus surrounds and of course Haslingden itself.
One could draw from that possibly an infant death for the earlier one.
I have arranged by area, every Moorhouse entry in the 1881 census. Queries by all are most welcome. Quietly beavering away at the other census's too.
Cheers Mark
