I've been to the two cemetaries that contain most of the members of the Moots family you mention many times. I have photos of their headstones.

Mary Stewart was the widow of a Charles Stewart, who was the partner of a Hugonaut named Piatt. The Piatt castles are well known tourist attrction here in Ohio. Charles and George Moots owned the land on which Piatt and Stewart built the castles. After Charles Stewart died Charles Moots married his widow.

I've got some pretty extensive information on that complete line of the family. Some members of the family used the name Moots and some used Moats.
