Hi. I think this is the marriage record you are referring to from the Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 : Jean-Baptiste Smith (Jean-Baptiste Smith & Catherine Hottin) m. 8 Feb 1869 Berthierville Josephine Morault (Amable Morault & Julie Deguire) Here are the next marriages in the Smith line: Jean-Baptiste Smith (Jean-Baptiste Smith & Susanne Boulard) m. 20 Oct 1845 Berthierville Catherine Hottin (Jean-Baptiste Hottin & Marie Josephte Masse?) Jean-Baptiste Smith, voyageur (Jean Smith & Josephte Chenet) m. 7 Feb 1820 Berthierville Susanne Boulard (Joseph Boulard & Angelique Renault) And here is the next Hottin marriage: Jean-Baptiste Hottin (Jean-Baptiste Hottin & Agathe Gueret) m. 29 Jul 1805 Berthierville Marie Josephe Masse (Antoine Masse & Marie Angelique Boucher) The last name is definitely Hottin. Jean-Baptiste Hottin's family was, according to the above marriage record, from the parish of Riviere-du-Loup in Kamouraska. The last name Hottin was also spelled Ottin or Autin in the parish records. Hope this helps. Annie Notify Administrator about this message?
