Just thought I would post some information about my Morford line to help anyone researching the name in the same area. I am a descendant of John Morford, a Revolutionary War soldier from New Jersey who settled in Mercer Co., PA. I descend through his son, Thomas who married Susannah Hazen, daughter of Jeremiah and Dorothy (Sayre) Hazen. They had a daughter named Mary Morford who married Josiah Brown. The Morfords and Browns intermarried frequently. Josiah's parents were Andrew and Mary (McLaughlin) Brown. After Andrew died, Mary married Richard Morford. Andrew's father was named John Brown. John was from the Harrisburg area and his ancestry goes back to a Covenanter martyr in Scotland, also named John Brown. I have also traced the Morford and Cox families back into colonial New Jersey.
