MORGENSTARN's- Boston > San Francisco

I am researching Jennie MORGANSTERN. (According to the 1920 soundex for California,) she was born 1864 in Russia. She married a man named GOOLTZ and they lived in Boston MA when at least two of their children were born: Joseph David GOOLTZ, b. 1886, Massachusetts; and Nina, b. 1891, MA.
By the 1920 census, Jennie was living in San Francisco with daughter, Nina and son-in-law, Frederick C. BUNGER.
There are several MORGENSTERN's in the San Francisco area around the 1900's. Are the SF and/or Boston MORGANSTER's and MORGENSTERN's connected?
