I don't know about the PA companies, but my 4th great-grandfather Jacob Morgenstern (Morningstar)b. 1819 served in Co. K, 45th Ohio infantry and his son, Christopher b. 1845, 3rd great-grandfather served in the Ohio Calvary, Co. P, 8th Regiment. They had immigrated from Germany in 1848 and settled in Madison Township, Clark Co., OH. I wonder if there is a connection with your Morgenstern's
