MORRELL, Mary Polly 1783-1848 m. Samuel Brand

I am trying a long-shot with this posting. For years I've been searching for any documentation showing that my gggrandmother, Alice Brand, was a Native American but am still searching. However, her grandmother was Mary Polly Morrell, who married Samuel Brand. Today I found online the US Census Mortality Schedule for New York 1850-1880 that shows a Nathaniel Morrell b. about 1784 and died March 1850 at Oyster Bay, Queens, New York. And it shows that he was a "Mulatto". Since that was used to show someone was American Indian I am using that as a clue. I'm looking for whether he was Mary Polly's brother. Does anyone have either Mary Polly Morrell, 1783-1848 or Nathaniel Morrell, 1784-1850 in your records? Mary Polly also lived in New York.
