Dear Margaret
Great to hear from you! I began to think nobody would ever respond to me.
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply but I've had a lot of trouble with my Genforum password - it wouldn't let me log on, but has finally been sorted.
I do actually have you and your sisters in my family tree! I have quite an extensive tree going back to James Mortifee and Elizabeth Bond who married in Otterford in 1756. Further down the tree, you are descended from a John Martify and his wife Anne Spiller (married Buckland St Mary 1858), whereas I am descended from that John's sister, Martha.
Several members of the family (maybe still there) lived in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, which is my birthplace, and I have been in touch with some currently in Canada. Do get in touch again and maybe we can trade information.
Best wishes
Christine
