Dear Christine,
Great to hear from you! I remember Uncle Bill (Canadian Mortifee connection) telling us about the Martify part of the family. We met them about 1956 when they were travelling between Zululand and Canada and stopped over for a few months in Bournmouth, as I remember. My Parents went to Canada on two occassions and met the whole family again. My youngest sister, Jennifer, tells me that she met Peter, who is now a doctor, when he was in England playing Cricket.
I remember some relatives in Westbury-on-Trym, Auntie Marjorie and Auntie Lilly come to mind ( I seem to remember that they were cousins), though that was ages ago in the 60's when I last saw them.
We are hoping to meet on a big family gathering when Jennifer's son, Idris, has his first child - Millie Ellen baptised in September. That is to take place in Lechlade where my sister lives. Gillian lives in Westbury Wiltshire.
I live in Hunstanton, Norfolk. All of our children have flown the nest though still make use of 'bed & breakfast' from time to time.
