Dear Margaret
Well, some familiar names there!
Yes I also remember Auntie Margie (whose real name was Annie May)and Auntie Lily, though only vaguely as we moved away from Bristol when I was 4. Margie was a Hutton and was my grandmother's cousin, but I'm not quite sure where Lily Mortifee fits into the scheme. Margie didn't die until 1985. I'm writing this from work so haven't got the family tree to hand. I believe there is also a Phyllis Hazeldene who lived (or lives?) in W-O-T who was a Mortifee. Among other Mortifees I have been in touch with are Fiona, daughter of Victor Mortifee also of W-O-T, and a lady called Jennifer Driscoll whose husband is descended from Violet Mortifee. That was many years ago now.

I made contact with Bill Mortifee via his daughter Ann, whom I found via the Internet. He wrote me a very nice, long letter full of family information. Sadly I never kept in touch as it was around the time I was both moving jobs and moving house. His son Peter also contacted me just a few weeks ago, an odd coincidence. He told me about his sisters and his daughters.
Can you enlighten me about your grandfather's Christian name? Is he Eli, Eli Thomas, Eli-Thomas or what? I have many variations! Or possibly Eli but always known as Tom..?

Hope the family gathering / christening goes well.
All the best
Christine
