Any idea where George was born? My gggrandfather was full blooded Creek Indian. My ggrandfather says that he was born in Butler, Choctaw County, Alabama. I know that he drowned in Mobile, AL in 1901 while trying to save his son George, Jr. I also know that he was married to Mary Ella Johnson, but I'm not sure when or where, and I have not found any information on her yet. I'm not sure that we are talking about the same person, as many people named themselves after George Washington. Please e-mail me at lgerald@sac-co.k12.ca.us and we can discuss this further. Thank you for your help.
