This is really curious--

I know that by the 1950's that the only Mosby's listed in Philly were my Dad (George Crumpler Mosby) and his surviving uncles, Joseph Maceo Mosby and Clarence Mosby. My grandfather, George, was born in VA in 1885, his father, Joseph in Richmond in 1865. There are another group of Mosby's in West Virginia who were looking for another George Mosby.

I do know that my GGM, Elnora Moore Mosby moved to South Philly sometime after Joseph Sr.'s death in 1916; it is entirely possible that there were kin there at the time that she moved. She died in 1927.
