I am quite new to family research and began looking for Mosebys in the Chester-le-street are of Durham, however I have found very few and some leads are pointing towards Mosby, perhaps the spelling changed somewhere along the line. I know of my gr grandfather who was killed in WW1, on the war graves sight he is R Moseby but on his local war memorial he is R Mosby. Apparently in the 1881 census there are only 229 Mosbys and about 99% of them are in Yorkshire. Let me know how you get on.
