Mosby's in Australia (Torres Strait)

I note that back in February a person posted a message on the Mosby family in the Torres Strait, Australia. I am part of that family. My great grandfather was Ned Mosby (commonly known as Yankee Ned) a white American, who, as far as the family knows, was a sailor out of Boston who jumped ship in Sydney. He found work on a missionary expedition heading to Papua New Guinea and while passing through the Torres Strait (which separates Australia from Papua New Guinea), he jumped ship again and settled on an island that was later named Yorke Island and married my great grandmother. He had four sons and one daughter all of whom married into island families. This is probably a long shot but does anybody know of a relative who headed off to Australia in the 19th Century and never returned. We do know that he had a sister and the family has photographs of Ned and his sister.
