Agnes Moseby, Cumberland Co VA 1747
Posted by: Marion Boshart (ID *****8344) Date: September 20, 2002 at 18:43:51
  of 1044

Agnes Moseby/Mosby/Mosbey/ was daughter of Hezekiah Mosbey and wife Elizabeth Cox. Presumedly this couple had 15 children, two of whom were named Agnes. The first Agnes born in 1736, the second in 1747. I have seen Agnes as married to Samuel Rice, but this attributed to Agnes #1 b 1736, who would likely have died prior to 1747. In my Rice information, I have Agnes born 1748 m to Samuel Rice in 1772. Agnes gave birth in June 1773 to son John and died in early 1774. Am trying to verify the Moseby information and solve the puzzle of the two Agnes at the same time. Any help greatly appreciated. Samuel Rice later married Susannah Watkins then Sarah Stratton who had one son Samuel Russell Rice. Couples started out in Cumberland Co.VA, migrating to KY and ultimately to LA.
