"Someties the six sisters married Mosby's"??
Well, that sounds gross--LOL, but really, I am not sure how I am related. I COULD ask my blood relatives, but I would not feel comfortable in doing so. I would have to contact them myself.
I was adopted at birth, and after my "birth" mother looked me up, I asked questions about my birth father and she gave me the family names (in 1993), so I found my birth father's family just 30 minutes away from where I lived then and still do now, so that was when I found out about the JSM relation; actually, it was one of the first things they told me about. So, the relation is through my birth father's mother. His mother was Mary Elizabeth Mosby, and actually at the time I heard the stories, I couldn't have cared less. I was totally disinterested at the time. I had never heard of JSM by 1993, so I never asked them the questions I am asking today.
Anyway, they told me in 1993 that they were contacted several years prior by someone with a family a senator.
My feelings today? I think it was a relation through John's only brother, although I am not sure?...maybe JSM's dad's brother?
Did JSM's dad have a brother or 2?
I have not told many people about it, either, and I will not discuss it except with family.
Do you find the relation a wee bit embarrassing??
I have many black friends and colleagues at work.
Just a thought.
