Hello Stanislav, I don't know exactly where the name Singleton comes from, because I have not yet found any Singleton in America, BUT, once, I was looking at the museum of Portraits' site, in London, and specially at an old painting of the house of Burgess, in England, about two or three centuries ago, just to see if I would see some names in relation with the names I have on my family tree going up as far as 1650, more or less, and I found a Singleton. It is like Tarleton, I have an American ancestor, Tarleton Payne, and there is aTarleton (his last name) who was a famous ferocious English colonialist who fought the Continentals during the war of Independence, while Tarleton Payne was fighting for America.
Please, tell me if you find informations on the Singleton?
