Sidney Barnett sold land in covesville to Wilson Mosby and Eddie his wife in 1909. He also sold and to Simon Mosby and Benjamin Mosby. By the Albemarle Personal Property tax of 1867 there were several Mosbys (African-Americans) working for Nathaniel J. Barnett (Sydney's father). Nathaniel Barnett's mother was a Harris and his wife was a Harris (dau of Mathew M. Harris) of "Canaan" house near Scottsville. I have alot of info on Matthew M Harris former slaves. John S. Mosby the Confederate general his grandmother was a Harris related to these Harris. I am thinking the Mosbys were former slaves of Nathaniel J. Barnett and --- Harris his wife (parents of Sydney Barnett who sold them land around 1909.
