Your command of the Essex Co VA Moseley family is quite careful! But unfortunately they are tricky to trace. I probably would not know a lot more than your descendancy, except 10 years ago Iris Y Borg of CA patiently read NC deed books page after page, and she's a little smarter than me too.
Actually there may have been a very few other Moseley records
in present-day Franklin Co NC area-- besides the ones you mention in your query. Atually James Moseley in 1754 Granville Co NC militia is a Brunswick Co VA Moseley unrelated to the Essex Co. VA line. Probably the John Moseley is also the Brunswick Co VA mano f that name, but John is such a common first name that identity is hard to confirm. The Brantly kin eventually, not by 1754 almost certainly, married the Essex Co VA son Thomas Moseley b. bef 1733. Moseley Sr and JR in 1757 Granville Co NC tax list seem more likely 2 generations of Brunswick Co VA James Moseley or John Moseley. But if it says Wm Moseley JR and SR, may you could find confirmation on the above website that Essex Co VA Moseley family had purchased land in GRanville Co NC by 1757, but my memory says by 1757 only one or two sons would have ventured up the TArr river to Granville Co NC, not a Wm JR and Sr deed.
The brief couple years of Bute Co NC is tricky, since it included present-day Warren Co NC, where a great many unrelated (Middlesex Co VA Moseley descendants for the most part) Moseley families also lived. Your descendancy seems quite accurate (aimilar to the above website)--EXCEPT YOU MISTAKENLY CONFUSED mIDDLESEX cO va&wARREN CO NC JOHN MOSELEY WHO MARRIED ANN WILLIAMS. HE IS A VERY DIFFERENT MAN FROM ESSEX CO VA JOHN MOSELEY WHO MARRIED MARGARET SMITH. Essex Co VA John Moseley has never been confirmed as having 2nd wife--and if so his #2 bride was not Ann Williams!
most relevant documents about that query can be found in the notes posted at
In brief (I'm talking from memory; so read the above documents if you want super-accuracy), in 1730s
Elizabeth and William Moseley b. ca 1692 removed from
Essex Co VA to near what is today the 3 county junction
in VA of Powhatan Co, Cumberland Co., and Amelia Co.
Then about 1750 they removed to Beaufort Co NC
By end of 1750s or so, they started moving up the Tarr River inland from Beaufort Co NC. Some intermediate records are in Edgecombe Co NC ca early 1760s as I recall. By 1767 or so almost all the family of Elizabeth and William Moseley b. ca 1692 were reassembled in what is today Franklin Co NC. But ca 1767 the land was in Granville Co NC or Bute Co NC. abt 1770 , Wm Moseley b. ca 1692 died and almost immediately most of the kids moved to South Carolina,
