I have traced the descendant lineage of Dirk's oldest son Johannes Theodorus. My hypothesis is that the name Mosman is Scots. There is some evidence that a John Mosman fled Scotland to Holland about the time of the Reformation in 1570s. I have no connecting info from him to Dirk's father Johannes.
