John Mossman's family settled in Montana

My great grandfather, John Mossman is believed to have come to the U.S. from Germany sometime in the late 1800s. He was married to Emma Heffner(?), and had a son named Peter Lawrence who was born in Kansas in about 1903 or so, not South Dakota as was originally thought. Peter's siblings included: John, Catherine, Helen, Agnes, and Gertrude. Am having a lot of difficulty finding connections here, as most Mossmans seem to have come from the British Isles! The family seems to have settled in Montana.
