Elizabeth Calvert MOSSMAN b 12 October 1808 d 14 May 1835, buried Rocky Glen
Cem, Adamsville, Crawford, Pennsylvania (Records of Rocky Glen Cemetery and
Nathaniel Calvert's will dated 11 May 1848, reg 14 Aug 1848, Crawford County
Will Book B pa 312)

Elizabeth married James MOSSMAN. Presumably he could be a descendent of John MOSSMAN and possibly of William Herdman Mossman and Sarah Gillis.

However, I have no real data on this James Mossman intermarried with Elizabeth Calvert. I did find this in the 1850 census:

1850 U S Census, West Salem township, Mercer, Pennsylvania page 409 taken
1st day of -------- [unreadable from my copy, possibly Sept]

Dwelling 2252 family 2274
James [T; or I?] Mossman age 50 [about 1800], male farmer $400 value of
real estate born Ohio
Sarah Mossman age 34 [about 1816] female, born Ohio
Asher Mossman age 14 [about 1836] male born Ohio
Sylvester Mossman age 13 [about 1837] male born Ohio
Leander Mossman age 4 male [about 1846]born Ohio
Robert Mossman age 2 male [about 1848] born Ohio

Note: To me, this has the look of a second marriage complete with two more
children being born as the wife is younger and the span between births is 9
years, a bit unusual back then. Well, now that I just put in the calculated
birth years, it would appear that these cannot be Elizabeth Calvert's
children. That leads me to wonder how accurate the ECM tombstone reading is,
and/or the recording of the boy's ages. This may not be the correct James
Mossman either, but it just seems to fit the circumstances of a deceased first wife. The will of Nathaniel definitely
mentions "my daughter Elizabeth's heirs, which is now dead". Has anybody
else seen another candidate for the right James Mossman?
