I believe Thomas below was Martha's father. He was in South Alabama near the Santa Rosa County/Escambia County line. He was there at the time Martha married John Wilkinson, 1836. In my family Martha was believed to be from a good background in Virginia. She was my ggg-grandmother on my father's side of the family.

Thomas MOTHERSHEAD was born about 1785 in VA. He owned land in AL between 1833 and 1837 in Lowndes Co. and Crenshaw Co. He died after 1840 in Crenshaw or Lowndes Co. AL. He served in the military in the War of 1812 in Virginia Militia.
