Hi Mark,
Joshua John Motsinger, born 1800 in Rowan County, NC married Mary Ann Caplinger. They had several children and Solomon Fisher Motsinger was born to them on 12/12/1833 in Wilson County, Tennessee and died on 01/27/1899 in Williamson County, Indiana. Mary Ann Caplinger's parents were Leonard Caplinger and Anna Ault. Joshua John Motsinger's children were: Solomon-1833, Anna-1837, Eliza Ann-1838, Susan Jane-1839, Caroline-1840, Freeman-1841, Mary-1843, Sarah-1844 and Leander-1847. I'm not sure where they are all buried, I will do some more checking on that and get back to you.

Hans Jacob Motsinger Jr. was born 1698 in Germany, he arrived at port of Phildelphia on 05/20/1735 abroad the ship "Mercury". Felix was at the age of 7 and Hans Jacob was 37.

Felix Motsinger was known as the eyes of "The Swamp Fox", and his son, Jacob, age 14, was known as the swift legs of "The Swamp Fox". The Swamp Fox was made up of 35 men and boys who together, with Francis Marion, fought for liberty in North and South Carolina. Felix, age 48, was a valuable procurer of food, supplies and information for the Swamp Fox. Felix and Jacob Motsinger are very well respected in the Sons of the American Revolution Society.

So, Mark, if you can prove your lineage of decendants to Felix, you too can be accepted as a Son of the American Revolution, Congrats !!!!!

I have a few questions for you, who married Solomon and where and how many children did he have??

Let me know if you need more information, glad to help.

Carol
