Mrs. Walsh, My greatgrandfather, Joseph Mountcastle (wife: Mary Mountcastle) is probably the greatgrandson of Joseph Joab Mountcastle. We are presently researching this. I did remember a Nance notation in the research I have been doing over the years. Hope it helps, though it is rather sparce, and I am sorry to say, I am not certain of the source!! The notation I have in my records is General Francis M. Nance Abt. 1787 - Miss Mountcastle (was this a marriage, was she in the household??) Sorry this wasn't more, as I call it, locked in, but hope it helps. Kathleen Mountcastle Midkiff
