Looking for Moutaw ancestry

I do not have much to go on, unfortunately. My grandparents and father (Robert Sr. & Thelma Hackenberg; Robert, Jr.)(their only child) passed on years ago.

My grandmother told me that in her lineage (her maiden name was Hoppel), one of her greats married the chief of a Cree Indian tribe. She said the name was [Moo-taw] but wasn't sure how it was spelled.

My grandparents and father lived in Michigan (St. Joe County) all their lives.

Do you find any surnames, such as Hackenberg, Hoppel or Laird, in your Moutaw lines?

Thank you.
