I too am descended from those Moubrays of Cramond who went via Ayr to Ballintra, Co. Donegal.
My great-great grandparents William Mowbray and Euphemia Mowbray (nee Teevan), with their many children, left Ballintra about 1842 to join their eldest son Robert Mowbray in New Zealand. Their prospects of land and work there did not eventuate and they moved to Sydney and thence to East Tamar (north of Launceston), Tasmania. Euphemia died there in 1846 aged 55, William in 1850 aged 66. They are buried in the small cemetery of the Auld Kirk at Sidmouth, on the western banks of the Tamar River.
One son, Dr Andrew Mowbray died at Stanley on the north-west coast of Tasmania in 1854 aged 36; most of his siblings moved to Victoria. I have much more, but I am still trying to connect William to the other Mowbrays in Ballintra. His Tasmanian death certificate does not name his parents.
I suppose you have contacted David Mowbray at his Mowbray One-Name Study site in England.
Best regards
