WWII Soldier Pvt Robert Mowery
Hi Everyone,
My older brother , Sgt Potier Dominique, has been a commando for 22 years in the Belgian army and is also an active member of a US WWII veterans association. He sponsors the graves of two US soldiers but does not have any info or pictures for one of them, Pvt Robert Mowery.
I am trying to locate any members of his family who might have a picture of him and/or who could tell us a little more about him.
Here is the info we have received by the Belgian army so far:
Pvt Robert Mowery
ASN 33692039 ; 551 parachute infantry Bataillon .
KIA on jan 7, 1945 to Rochelinvalle
Burried Henri-Chapelle Plot B Row 9 grave 30
He was from Pennsylvania . His last address was : 1235, Frankln Av , Wilkinsburg , Pennsylvania .
According to another veteran we met and who knew him, he had an aunt named Ethel Phelps who was also from Pennsylvania. He was born in 1925 and got enlisted in 1943 in Greensburg ????
There will be a ceremony in September to honor him and other soldiers who died and we would like to bring his picture along.Furthermore, we would like to frame his picture as...you may understand...we feel as though he is now part of our family. He gave his life so we could live. That's the least we can do for him.
We have contacted many people in the US to no luck. We do not know where to turn anymore. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all and God Bless!
Nathalie
