George F. Bowles

I am seeking information on George F. Bowles. He was an African-American who married Laura E. Weldon in 1880 in Adams Co., MS. He was found in the 1880 Vidalia,Concordia Parish,LA census, and was a lawyer from South Carolina. He moved across the Mississippi and was counted in the 1886 Natchez City Cemetery.
I found an article that said he'd served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from Adams County, possibly in Reconstruction Days. The article also told of his charitable deeds, that he aided black and white alike, as well as former Confederate soldiers. I am hoping to find someone who might know of his earlier life prior to 1880 in Mississippi or back to South Carolina. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
