Joyce Ann Baker Caldwell, 73, died June 6, 2008, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was a native of Corinth, the daughter of Grady and Mattie B. Baker. She married Jerry Caldwell. She lived in Detroit, Mich., for 38 years. She retired in Corinth. She was an active member of West Corinth Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Alcorn County Homemakers Club and was presently serving as an officer. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Services were at the West Corinth Baptist Church in Corinth with burial at the Henry Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included her husband of 52 years, Jerry S. Caldwell of Corinth; one son, Sid Caldwell (Alicia) of Corinth; two daughters, Lee Ann Betts (Greg) of Columbia, Tenn., and Jo Ellen Caldwell of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Emma Lee Rickard of Indianapolis, Ind., and Rita Moss of Corinth; three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Don Baker and Leon Baker.
