J.L. Brock, 75, died June 9, 2008, at Cornerstone Health and Rehab. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was in the grocery business for several years. He was the co-owner of The White Trolley for many years. He and his wife, Marjorie, built and owned The Dinner Bell in 1995. They also owned The Hitchin' Post. They presently own The Country Boy Cafe. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Services with military honors were at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park.
Survivors included his wife, Marjorie Brock of Corinth; one son, Terry Brock of Corinth; one stepson, Harold Guyton (Sherry) of Corinth; one stepdaughter, Ginger Lancaster (David) of Corinth; three grandchildren, Blair Prather, Hayden Prather and Hudson Prather; one brother, Danny Brock (Kay) of Corinth; two sisters, Shirley Greer of Eupora and Rachel Oliver (Ray) of Dallas, Texas; a sister-in-law, Virginia Brock of Romeoville, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Brock; his mother, Juanita Wilbanks Brock; and a brother, Kenneth Brock.
